Tameside Women in Business makes triumphant return

A NETWORKING event for women in business from Tameside, organised by a local law firm, made a triumphant return in a new setting.

Bromley Solicitors from Ashton-under-Lyne teamed up with the rest of the MAPD Group team to hold the free lunch at Ashton Old Baths.

Forty women attended the informal gathering, which aims to build new and existing business relationships.

Louise Nolan, Practice Manager at Bromleys, was the host and said it was both “fabulous and inspiring”.

She added: “This was the first time that the event has been held at Ashton Old Baths and it really did provide us with the perfect backdrop to host what has perhaps been the best edition of Tameside Women in Business to date.

“Thank you to all who attended, it is clear from the feedback that everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did.”

The guest speaker was Hannah Kennedy, Director of Learning, Development and Careers at MAPD Group, who trained as a solicitor in London and has worked for law firms.

She delivered a talk that was “an honest conversation about culture” which explored how to create, maintain and evolve a culture that delivers high performance and happy people, driving forward the company ethos of ‘making a positive difference’.

Among the organisations in the Tameside area represented at the event were Emmaus Mossley, Reeds Rains, Tameside College, Digital Flamingo, Clarendon Square, Brighter Accounting, Ryder Dutton, Wrigley Claydon, Village Hotels, Bennett Staff and Utility Warehouse.

Planning is already under way for the next event, which will take place in spring 2024.
