BUSINESS owners in Tameside have a new date to circle on their calendars as an awards ceremony is returning after a five-year break.
The Pride of Tameside Business Awards is coming back as a not-for-profit event to mark and celebrate the achievements in and contribution to the borough.
Thursday, May 23 will see entrants and nominees gather at Dukinfield Town Hall for the first time since 2019, when a record 300 people attended.
The Covid-19 pandemic halted the Tameside Council-backed awards being held but excitement is already building ahead of their return.
Claire Mahady, chief executive of Hyde-based Findel, said: “As a proud member of the Tameside business community, everyone at Findel is very excited to hear about the return of the magnificent Pride of Tameside Awards in May 2024.
“As a previous winner we took huge pride in being recognised by the local business community and the awards took pride of place in the Findel trophy cabinet.
“It is a truly great event to celebrate the many great businesses in our region and to celebrate the individuals and teams who deliver so much.
“We will be entering, attending and hoping to win some more awards this time.”
