Mossley AFC’s fireworks display goes off with a bang

MOSSLEY AFC’S Seel Park ground has seen plenty of eye-catching displays in the past – but few will be as memorable as this year’s fireworks.

Some 2,000 people packed into the stadium to watch what one of the standout events of the calendar could produce.

And this year did not disappoint as cheers and gasps of amazement echoed through the air on Sunday, November 5.

Football club manager Dave Fish was among the crowds who piled through the turnstiles, with street food vendors proving popular.

Mossley AFC’s boardroom was turned into a tuck shop selling cakes and sweets, while the constant queue for the tea bar spoke volumes.

When the main event came, after Mossley Brass Band played some familiar tunes, anticipation was high as the team of experts hired to run the display started their magic.

Almost half an hour later, many were left open-mouthed at what they had just seen. The sky was constantly lit up with colourful displays.

After this year’s success, you can be almost certain there will be a repeat in 2024 – with hopes high it will prove as popular.

  1. Hats off to all involved!

Finally something worth celebrating in Tameside! (Maybe because the local Labour council had zero involvement in the event)

    Bring on 2024!
