Film crews have descended on a Mossley street for the next instalment of a ‘criminal whodunnit?’ series.
It’s ‘lights, ‘camera’, action on Moorlands Road, Moorlands Drive and Alphin Close on the Hey Farm estate as it provides the setting for the filming of a new production.
Crews are shooting scenes for upcoming ITV show Ridley using the streets and two houses as its location having been seen filming locally and in Ashton Town centre last month.
The series stars a familiar face in Adrian Dunbar, better known to many in the area as Superintendent Ted Hastings in all six series of BBC Television’s Line of Duty, in the role of Alex Ridley.
The former detective inspector is brought back in as a consultant 18 months after an early retirement due to a nervous breakdown from having to come to terms with the loss of his wife and daughter in a house fire.
Ridley is written and created by Paul Matthew Thompson, one of the lead writers of ITV’s popular detective drama, Vera.
Crews are expected to leave the area on Thursday, November 2.
