Further changes expected at Mossley AFC

MOSSLEY AFC manager Dave Fish has placed his under-performing players on notice – the squad will be changed.

The Lilywhites have brought in Alfie Belcher from Trafford FC as they attempt to arrest a worrying run of results.

But after leaking 16 goals in October, with one match to go, Fish warned his players he is running out of patience.

And if some come in at Seel Park, others may leave.

He said: “Injuries are an easy excuse to hide behind.

“We’ve got a squad of players and that should be good enough to step in. What we’re seeing is they’re not.

“Two deals fell through last week – we’re going to have to freshen things up and change the pack a bit.

“We’ve given players ample opportunity. We’ve worked with them at training and talked about mentality and it hasn’t changed.

“We need to freshen things up a different way. Some of how we’ve defended is just down to heart and desire.

“If some come in, some will go out – we can’t have a squad of 25 but we need to make sure we’ve got the right players in before we think about moving players on.”

Fish denied talk that veteran Nicky Clee is being released from Mossley, revealing his absence is down to injury.

He told the Correspondent: “There’s all sorts of rumours going around but he’s not been released.

“He trained before our game against Leek but had to come off after a few minutes. He’s damaged tendons in his chest and shoulder.

“There’s not a lot you can do other than rest it.”
