PREPARATIONS are taking shape for a new autumn production staged by Dukinfield Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society which is bound to get audiences excited.
Unfortunately, the society had to cancel this year’s musical ‘The Wiz’ due to poor ticket sales.
But the management committee did not want to leave members and audiences with no musical production this year, so they decided to stage a musical revue in its place.
‘Bring Me Sunshine’ will feature performances of songs and dances from the world of musical theatre by both newcomers and long-standing members of the society.
It will be staged and choreographed by Jean Johnson.
The production will be dedicated to the memory of the society’s late president Eric Dyson, who sadly passed away in August.
It will be staged on Friday, October 20, and Saturday, October 21, at Hurst Community Centre on Kings Road in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Tickets are £10 each and can be booked online now at www.ticketsource.co.uk/dukinfield-aods
Copies of the society’s 75th anniversary celebratory book, which was initially published in 2021, will also be available to purchase on both evenings. The 260-page publication is packed with both nostalgia and photographs.
