HYDE town centre will transform into somewhere out of this world to celebrate Sci-Fi Saturday.
The market hall will be hosting a number of attractions for families and science-fiction fans to enjoy on Saturday, October 7.
The event has been organised by Tameside Markets, in partnership with the Hyde Fundraisers group.
On the first floor of the hall, there will be a special display featuring sci-fi props and models, created by Chester model maker Kevin Davies.
From a Space 1999 Eagle to Thunderbird 2, there will be an impressive collection of detailed miniature spacecraft from TV and film.
The first gallery display by graphic designer Elliot Davey – featuring characters from horror through to iconic images like Heath Ledgers Joker – will also be showcased.
Another guest at the market hall will be sculptor Phillip Thomas Robinson, who has worked with Millenium FX on the 60th anniversary specials of Doctor Who starring David Tennant and the new series featuring the 14th Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa.
He’s also created highly detailed replicas of classic Doctor Who characters, some of which he will be displaying.
There will also be chances to see superheroes, villains and iconic sci-fi characters at Hyde Market Hall and appearing on the Civic Square between 11am and 3pm.
Character pop ups will also include The Mandalorian, face Dalek creator Davros, Spider-man and The Joker.
At 1pm, POP on the Civic Square will be hosting a Sci-Fi/Superhero Fancy Dress competition too, with some great prizes up for grabs.
Hyde Civic Square will also be hosting the monthly Artisan market, organised by Little Owl, so there will be plenty happening.
