A VETERINARY practice in Tameside has reopened after a major £700,000 refurbishment which took three months to complete.
Gourley Vets on Wellington Road in Ashton-under-Lyne has been redesigned with new facilities and equipment to accommodate more clients and offer more services for their pets.
There is now a more spacious reception area, with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs.
The building layout has also been altered to create five modern consulting rooms, instead of the previous three, which allow new services such as healthy pet club checks and weight management to be run.
Two operating theatres have been completely refurbished, along with a dedicated dental room to incorporate digital dental X-rays.
Refurbished preparation areas, walk-in kennels for larger dogs, an isolation unit, a staff hub, and new heating and air conditioning have been added.
The practice has also brought in cutting-edge equipment to diagnose and treat animals – featuring ultrasound, endoscopy, digital X-ray, dental X-ray and specialised ophthalmology equipment.
Amanda Smith, Clinical Director at Gourley Vets, commented: “As an established veterinary service in the local community, we are excited that this refurbishment places us in a position to continue serving the Ashton-under-Lyne area for many years to come.
“Our newly designed building will provide us with a fresh modern practice ready for the future – to represent the veterinary profession’s new modern approach to providing veterinary care.”
Established in 1953, Gourley Veterinary Surgeons are a group of small animal practices in Tameside – with surgeries also in Hyde, Droylsden and Stalybridge.
