Hyde Mela returns for a third year

A FREE event for all the family is taking place in Hyde Park this weekend.

Hyde Mela returns for a third year on Sunday, August 27, from 11am to 6pm.

The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Tafheen Sharif, will officially open proceedings at midday and that will be followed by the presentation of the Martyn Hett Memorial Trophy.

There will be artisan and food stalls, face painting, fairground rides for the children, a raffle, a line-up of local performers to entertain visitors, and much more.

The organising of the Mela, a market with entertainment, has involved the whole community and will be run on the day by a dedicated band of volunteers.

Last year’s event was hailed a huge success and attracted around 6,000 people to the park.

  1. Hi
I am interested to hold a stall at Hyde park, I have recently had a stall at Alexandra park in Oldham on 23/06/24.
    which was a sucess.
My work colleague David mentioned this event.
Will you please let me know if you have any stall availability and the charge please.
I have a charity in Pakistan called Saiqa Welfare Trust we provide free health care for the needy. These kind of events help me provide funds and participate in community events.
I look forward to hearing from you.
