PUPILS at Denton’s St Thomas More RC College have been hailed as ‘outstanding’ after what are described as ‘excellent’ GCSE results.
In total, 77 per cent of pupils at the Town Lane establishment achieved Grades Nine to Four in English and Mathematics, significantly higher than pupils achieve nationally and an improvement on the results from last year.
In Mathematics alone, 81 per cent of our pupils achieved the marks and in English, 86 per cent made the grade.
Individually, Henry J excelled in all his subjects and gained Grade Nines in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, German, History and Mathematics.
Harry B achieved five Grade Nines while Maria R, Gabby O, Cory I, Owen C, Eve H and Francesca V all achieved four, plus outstanding results in each of the subjects they studied.
A spokesman for St Thomas More RC College said: “We have had a fantastic set of results across subject areas with some outstanding performances by individual pupils, which need to be celebrated.
“We are very proud of all our Year 11s because of the commitment they have shown towards their studies throughout their time at St Thomas More RC College.
“This is an excellent set of results reflecting the hard work, dedication and resilience of our Year 11 pupils.
“It has been a great pleasure to celebrate our GCSE success with pupils, parents, carers and our dedicated team of staff who have supported our pupils throughout their journey.
“We look forward to hearing of the future success that our Year 11 leavers will have on the next steps of their journey.”
