Children at a Stalybridge nursery had a special visit from Greater Manchester Police

Children from each room in the nursery got a feel for being behind the wheel of a real police car while wearing police hats.

There was lots of excitement when they got to see the lights flashing on the car – but had to cover their ears when the sirens went off!

The officer called Dan showed the youngsters his uniform and the various items he has to carry while on duty, explained what the police do to help people and showed them the different hats that different ranked officers wear.

The visit was welcomed by the nursery’s manager Hayley Lawlor, who said: “The children – and staff – thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and asked lots of questions. It is important for us to introduce the children to people who help us in the community and we look forward to our future visitors.”
