DRUGS worth a street value of about £35,000 have been seized after police raided a property in Stalybridge.
Officers entered the address on Binns Street, close to the town’s border with Dukinfield on Friday, July 7.
And after a large number of drug packages were recovered following an extensive search of the area, a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs at the scene.
He remains in custody for questioning after air pistols were also seized.
Detective Constable Jake Orr of Greater Manchester Police’s Operation Challenger, Tameside Organised Crime Unit, said: “This successful warrant showcases our determination to tackle serious and organised crime groups in our areas of Greater Manchester.
“Our work doesn’t stop, as we work together to relentlessly pursue and disrupt this kind of crime as well as reduce the risks to vulnerable people and stop them from becoming victims.
“This type of criminality includes county lines and other forms of serious offences relating to it.
“I would encourage members of the public to continue to be our ‘eyes and ears’ and report anything they suspect is affecting their area in full confidence by ringing 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Always dial 999 in an emergency.”
