Crowds gather at Hartshead Pike to celebrate Summer Solstice

HARTSHEAD Pike, became a hub of celebration yesterday (June 21, 2023) as crowds flocked to mark the arrival of the summer solstice.

The iconic monument in Ashton-under-Lyne has become a firm favourite for those wishing to watch the sunset on the longest day of the year.

The ancient tradition of celebrating the summer solstice has been observed for centuries.
