BIN collections in Tameside will be slightly disrupted on Monday, May 8, the Coronation bank holiday.
Households due a green bin collection on Monday, May 8 will instead have their bin collected on Tuesday, May 9 while households due a black or blue bin collection on Monday, May 8 will instead have their bin collected on Wednesday, May 10.
There will be no brown bin collections at all May 8-10 to enable crews to catch up with green, black and blue bin collections. Brown bins will be collected as normal the following week.
Residents are asked to please leave bins out by 7am for collection and remember to park considerately to allow bin wagons access.
A Tameside Council spokesperson said: “Our bin crews work hard throughout the year, including most bank holidays but the we are giving our crews the day off for the Coronation Bank Holiday as this is a one off national occasion and we want them to be able to enjoy the street parties and celebrations. Thanks to residents for their cooperation and we hope everyone enjoys the May bank holidays!”
For further information on waste and recycling see www.tameside.gov.uk/recycling or download/check the Tameside Bin App, which will be updated with the changes.
What on earth are we paying you for!!
Brown bins not collected. The road surfaces are a disgrace, (despite guarantee of lasting for 25 years) .
You run your services for your convenience, not for the convenience of the people who pay your wages.
Yet again l haul my brown bin out for collection … No show … Haul it back in back through my back garden … Why is it always the brown bin that doesn’t get emptied ? … Absolutely fed up with collection dates not adhered to … Please please sort it OUT.
