Hundreds of jobs on offer at Tameside Spring Jobs Fair

TAMESIDE residents on the hunt for a new job or in need of recruitment support or advice can drop in to the Spring Jobs Fair, which takes place on Thursday, April 27 at Dukinfield Town Hall.

Employers will be on site with hundreds of employment opportunities across the full range of sectors on the day to talk about their roles and businesses. The Jobs Fair will be open from 9.30am until 12.30pm and residents are encouraged to bring along their CV to apply for live vacancies at the event.

Employers include event sponsors Jigsaw Homes Group, and local Tameside businesses such as Tameside College, Greater Manchester Pension Fund, Helping Hands Home Care, Securitas Security Services, Smartway Recruitment, JJD Pinnacle and lots more.

The Jobs Fair, which is held twice a year, also offers a wealth of training, support and skills providers to assist with your employment journey from improving your CV to accessing the right training to get a better job. This includes the in work progression support provided by ‘Tameside In Work’ and the supported employment service ‘Routes to Work’ as well as training providers such as Tameside Adult Community Education.

This free event, hosted by Tameside Council’s Economy Employment and Skills Team, in partnership with Jigsaw Homes is open to residents of all ages from across Tameside to come along and drop in on the day.

The previous Tameside Jobs Fair, held in September, welcomed hundreds of people through the doors.

John McGlynn, Neighbourhood Engagement Officer at Jigsaw Homes said: “We are really pleased to be able to sponsor this event once again and we have a wide range of roles available in Tameside and across Greater Manchester. It really is a great opportunity for residents to meet and engage with potential employers in person and it really works!”

Tameside Council, Head of Economy, Employment and Skills, Sarah Jamieson, said: “It’s great to have so many fantastic employers with opportunities available in one place. The Jobs Fair allows us to support local businesses with their recruitment challenges but also fundamentally helps residents to secure work or boost their income in these challenging times. The diverse range of jobs, training and support on offer provides the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to start or change their career this Spring.”
