FLOWERY Field Cricket Club is sticking with the tried and trusted when it comes to who leads its first XI this year.
After guiding the club to the Premier League in the Greater Manchester Cricket League, Owen Feakes will stay on as captain.
He will be assisted by Adam Bardsley as their season gets started against Roe Green on April 22.
There is a changing of the guard at second XI level as long-serving Si Woods has stepped down.
He is being replaced by Adam Johnson with Ste Wharton selected as his vice-captain.
Flowery Field have added former New Zealand Under-19 international Fergus Lellman to their ranks for the forthcoming season.
Having played in Norfolk for Downham Stow CC, the ‘exceptional prospect’ who made his debut for the Northern Knights in his homeland last year.
Right-handed batter and medium/fast bowler Lellman was a consistent performer at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2019 and in 12 one day internationals for New Zealand, he racked up 431 runs at an average of 43.10.
Last season in the top tier of the Norfolk Alliance, he it 805 runs at an average of 40.25 and took 20 wickets.
