All together now at Stalybridge Celtic

CIARAN Summers believes Stalybridge Celtic are being carried by a sense of togetherness among the squad.

Until a 1-0 loss at Marine, the Bower Fold club won two matches and drawn one after it was announced manager Chris Willcock’s budget was being cut by 20 per cent.

Now as they prepare for the test of Whitby on home turf, Scottish defender Summers feels a much better spirit now can translate into results.

And he believes the win at Hyde United on Boxing Day can be seen as a turning point.

He said: “That game on Boxing Day was massive and we’ve taken confidence from that – you can see it out there.

“Everyone knows how each other plays now and we seem to have a good unit together.

“It’s a great group. At this level you see boys come and go, it was maybe like that at the start of the season.

Now we’ve a good, solid group and you see that out there.

“It’s a group of players that’s here because they want to be. Now we’ve a group that’s all working hard for each other.

“There’s a real togetherness and you can definitely see that. We feel it in the changing room and you see it on the pitch.

“I can feel that from the moment I walk in on a game day. Everybody’s confident.”
