SEVERAL local bands will do their bit by performing at a gig to raise funds for a Stalybridge-based foodbank.
Rock the Foodbank is preparing for its fourth concert – actually in person after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic – on Saturday, November 18.
The town’s New Labour Club, on Acres Lane, will reverberate from 5pm until midnight as groups and acts perform at the event, which will raise funds for Barty’s, which is based in its car park.
Mossley based Freeda will headline, fresh from a gig at Manchester’s Band on the Wall venue and the release of their EP.
Others playing will be New Revolution, Plastic Heart, Kaiden Nolan, The Kurbs, Judas Smith and Jacob Reddy.
Cllr Sam Gosling, who created Rock the Foodbank – which has raised thousands of pounds – in 2018, said: “I am really looking forward to this year’s event.
“We have secured some amazing bands and it really is an opportunity to showcase the talent we have in Tameside with original music.
“Foodbank use has risen due to the cost of living crisis so please buy a ticket and let’s help Barty’s Foodbank continue the excellent work they do”
Tickets are £10 and ALL ticket money will be donated to Barty’s Foodbank.
