Six months of Feathering means successful Nest

A STALYBRIDGE business is toasting the progress it has made – and the reception it has had – after clocking up six months.

Feather My Nest has added to the town after setting up on the corner of Melbourne Street and Castle Street.

And owner Zea Grantham has promised she has a ‘few tricks up her sleeve’ as Christmas approaches.

The main thing, though, is how well the store has been received.

She said: “Feather my Nest has been in Stalybridge for six months now and I would just like to say a massive thank you to the community for welcoming and supporting me.

“I was nervous about opening and in some ways it was like starting the business from scratch again but I needn’t have worried because the people of Stalybridge have been amazing.

“I’ve been blown away by the support of the other businesses and just the real sense of community.

“It is a really worrying time for small businesses and just the sense of unity is extremely reassuring that we are in it together and we build together for something great for Stalybridge.”

Bringing homeware and children’s clothes and items to Stalybridge, Feather My Nest is now looking towards two momentous days – December 25 and its 12-month anniversary at its current site.

Some Christmas items are already in stock but expect more to come, plus one or two surprises.

It has also done its bit to help those who help them as Zea added: “Feather My Nest has recently been involved in Fiver Fest, which is a national initiative to encourage people to shop locally which in turn boosts our local economy as well as providing bargains for the people who have supported our businesses.

“It has been brilliant to be part of the initiative and build relationships with other businesses.

“Our slogan is ‘to make a house a home’ and I can honestly say that I feel at home in Stalybridge and I look forward to celebrating our first ‘Stalybridge’ birthday in the spring.

“Looking ahead, we are set to go for our first Christmas in Stalybridge with stock arriving all the time.

“I have hopefully got a few tricks up my sleeve in the run up to Christmas but you will have to keep an eye on our social pages for more information on that.”
