BUCKTON Vale Primary has been crowned champions after the return of the Mossley Olympics.
The event, organised by the Mossley and Carrbrook Schools’ Partnership, returned for the first time since 2019 because of Covid.

Six schools took part in the Mossley Olympics which were hosted by Mossley Hollins High School, Buckton Vale, St George’s, Milton St John’s, Livingstone, Micklehurst All Saints and St Joseph’s.
And after an afternoon of competition in sprints, sprint relays, egg and spoon and sack races, skipping, javelin and long jump, the Carrbrook school was crowned champions.

Deborah Brown, Buckton Vale headteacher, said: “I’m so proud of the children.
“A total of 48 took part in a variety of races and sporting activities. The attitude of the children was first class as they followed our values at all times with their aspiration to achieve, respect of others and sheer dedication fantastic.”
