• Priory men’s second team has been won the division seven title in the North East Cheshire Lawn Tennis League after a fantastic season.

The men’s first team has consolidated after five successive promotions to reach the first division for the first time in the club’s history and they will remain in the top-flight for 2023 season.• Priory applied for and won a grant from the Dan Maskell Trust which is being used to support First Tameside, an adult group who have now been given a free group membership, coaching and specialist resources to support their members. A club member is also providing ongoing funding to support this group.

Priory is also now part of the LTA Open Court programme which will support us to encourage and support involvement in tennis by a wider range of diverse groups in Tameside and will help them to increase participation in healthy physical activity.

To support this work Priory is affiliated and supported by TSPAN (Tameside Sport and Physical Activity Network).

With the help of members Pat and Tony Jenkins and Gwyn Davies, Priory have now completed their centenary garden to celebrate 100 years since the club was opened.

Priory have been successful in their grant application with Suez Community Trust to upgrade their floodlights to LED which will improve the quality of light for players and be more environmentally friendly. This project is also being supported by a loan from Cheshire LTA.
