CHILDREN at Stalybridge’s St Raphael’s Primary School were given thanks by Willow Wood for going hopping mad and raising thousands of pounds.
Pupils raised £2,450.25 by getting over obstacles in the Huddersfield Road establishment’s playground as it decided to give back to others rather than give things up during Lent.
And the hospice’s mascot Woody was on hand to receive the cheque after St Raphael’s established itself as one of the highest ranked schools for fundraising in Tameside this year.

Children also got to meet the bear, who was a special guest at assembly on the morning of Thursday, June 23.
And the money raised is another boost to the fine work Willow Wood do for patients and their families.
