A MAN will again appear in court later in July after admitting making threats to bomb Ashton’s police station.
Luke Nuttall has pleaded guilty to three charges of making malicious communications relating to the claims made on January 5, February 2 and June 14
He also held his hands up to a further charge of a bomb hoax in connection with the June 14 incident.
The 29-year-old, of the Reddish area of Stockport, will now appear in court again on Thursday, July 7 after his appearance on June 16.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police Tameside said: “On Tuesday, June 14 2022, an officer at Ashton police station received a threat via a phone call from a known male, stating he was on his way to blow up Ashton-under-Lyne police station.
“An immediate search of the local area was then conducted, resulted in the male being located and arrested at an address in Ashton.
“Officers from GMP Tameside’s North neighbourhood policing team interviewed the male in relation to this offence and then sought a charging decision from the Crown Prosecution Service for this and two further threats to bomb Ashton police station in January and February 2022.
“When Nuttall appeared at Tameside Magistrates Court, he pleaded guilty to all charges and was remanded into custody to re-appear on July 7, 2022.”
