POLICE have arrested a third person in connection with a murder that shocked a community in Mossley.
Thomas Campbell was found dead at an address on Riverside on Sunday, July 3 after officers were called out after concerns for the welfare of a person.
What had happened soon appeared and a murder inquiry was launched.
A man and a woman – Stephen Cleworth, 37, and Colleen Campbell, 38 – have already been arrested before being charged with conspiracy to commit Thomas’ murder.
Now Greater Manchester Police has revealed a man was arrested in Tameside on Saturday (July 16) on suspicion of murder.
Investigators from the force’s major incident team interviewed the 27-year-old before he was later released on police bail to allow for further enquiries.
Both Mr Cleworth, of Heywood, and Mrs Campbell, of the Clayton area of Manchester, have been remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Manchester Crown Court.
Mr Cleworth will appear on Monday, August 15.
