Pupil shows Emmaus the way to lo-go

A MOSSLEY primary school pupil will soon see his work around the town after winning a competition to design a new logo for Emmaus.

The town’s branch of the homelessness charity asked all schoolchildren to come up with a new emblem for its 25th year.

And Sydney Brown of year six at Milton St Johns will see his work emblazoned around the Queen Street venue after coming out on top.

The new logo for Emmaus

It was a double for the Mill Lane establishment as Year Two pupil Georgia took second place.

Sydney’s work will now feature on a range of products including t-shirts, bags, key rings, balloons, cards, so the design needed to be transferable on to a range of different materials, such as plastic, fabric and metal.

The pupils also had to consider what is important to Emmaus in terms of their organisation and their colours too – red, green, yellow and black.

A spokesman for Milton St Johns said: “The school is very excited and so proud of both Sydney and Georgia and now can’t wait to see the real logo!

“Very well done to these amazing creative designers of the future.”
