Chloe lands new contract with Manchester United

MOSSLEY girl Chloe McHugh has been handed a new contract by Manchester United.

And it will be a big step up for the 14-year-old for the 2022-23 season.

As the Reds’ do not have an Under-15s side, right-back Chloe will be jumping from U14s to U16s.

“It will be a big challenge for Chloe, but she is up for it,” explained mum Rebecca.

Chloe has enjoyed a successful season helping the Reds win the U14 North West division of the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway League.

After a slow start to the season, United came good to pip neighbours Manchester City to the regional title by one point.

Chloe, a pupil at Saddleworth School, has been at United since the age of seven.

Initially the former Greenfield Primary pupil began training with the Reds while also playing for Curzon Ashton where she was a midfield player before switching to right back with the Reds.

Chloe, who began playing aged three when attending Castle Top Nursery, Mossley, is a lifelong United fan and her ambitions are to play for the Reds in Women’s Super League and for England.

When Chloe starred for United U12s, which she captained, they not only played against other academy girls’ teams like Liverpool and Manchester City, but they also competed in a boys’ league, the Timperley and District Junior Football League.
