Tameside Captured: looking through your lens

ARE we ok now? Are we clear of any winter weather? Certainly looks like it from the sunny selection of photos in this month’s Tameside Captured.

Admit it, many of you were sat staring at the snow, scratching your head at just why snow was falling as we got one last winter blast.

But the wonderful scenery of Tameside remains brilliant, whatever the weather – although a bit of sun does help.

Tameside Captured – Peter Liggins – STAR IMAGE

This month’s Star Image goes to Peter Liggins for catching the effect that funny yellow object in the sky can have, casting a perfect silhouette of a tree against a lawn.

And there was a general theme as Patsy Fairclough, Dave Parrack, Allan Hamilton, Josh Greaves and Linda Hollingworth Fraser caught the uplift sun and blue skies have on what is around us.

And decent weather means people can get out and lap up what is on our doorstep, be it mountain biking – as Phil Allen shot – or boarding the train around Stamford Park, which Jayne Bradbury captured.

Despite the great weather – a welcome change from the depths of winter and Storm whatever its name was – sometimes good pictures can still be found inside.

And Mic Cullen caught signs that have no doubt seen many a winter, summer, heatwave or snow storm at Stalybridge railway station’s Buffet Bar.

  1. Am I in the right place? My group Tameside Captured on Facebook will not let me in. I keep getting notifications of people liking pics I have put on, but it won’t let me in, says unavailable.
