Tameside Captured: looking through your lens

WELL, it finally looks like Spring is just around the corner as evenings get lighter and – dare we say it – days get warmer.

That means even more opportunity to catch Tameside’s beauty on camera. Not that Correspondent readers have not done a sterling job of it already.

As ever, you have been out and about, braving the elements, just about all of them, to show the stunning scenery on our doorstep.

This month’s Star Image shows just how the change of season can promise better things as Victoria Anderson’s vista of blue skies, fluffy white clouds and green countryside captured the conditions perfectly.

And flowers were a theme as Sarah Lewis and Sam Massey each caught new shoots poking through, with Brian Kennerley catching a tree looking a lot more content than it has for the past few months.

Nature can also enjoy themselves a bit more, rather than looking for a warm sport, and Lee Stafford and Tony Bayliss could not resist catching birds doing just that.

We’re not sure whether the weather is nice enough for the workmen to be doing the job Mark Healey snapped them doing.

And it can even paint buildings in a better light, even at night as Derrick Evans showed and Gary Taylor with his black and white image.
