Large emergency response following ‘concern for welfare’ in Carrbrook Village

EMERGENCY services were called to the scene of an incident in Stalybridge this afternoon, Wednesday, March 9.

Crews from Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue, North West Ambulance Service and representatives from Tameside Council were in attendance at the lane running from Cowbury Dale towards the reservoir.

The Correspondent understands the incident was close to what is known locally as ‘Three Corners Dam’.

North West Ambulance service told The Correspondent:

“We are supporting a concern for welfare incident following a call at 12.15pm

“We haven’t needed to take anyone to hospital.”

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At around 12.10pm today (March 9, 2022), firefighters were called to a police incident in Carrbrook, Stalybridge.

“Two fire engines from Stalybridge and Mossley fire stations, a technical rescue unit from Ashton-under-Lyne and a water incident unit from Eccles fire stations attended the scene.

“Firefighters were detained for approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.”
