A TAXI driver is believed to have been fined after being caught on camera crossing a busy motorway on foot.
Officers from North West Motorway Police shared an image of the cabbie running across the M67, with the apparent reason being to retrieve a magnetic sign.
And colleagues at the Greater Manchester force told The Correspondent they believe the culprit was issued with a fine.
After being spotted risking his life by walking along the carriageway, officers stopped to find out what was going on.
And they were left in disbelief by the taxi driver’s ‘stupidity’ as they discovered the reason why he had been on his feet – to get the sign after it ended up at the central reservation.
Officers issued the taxi driver with a traffic offence report.
And when asked by The Correspondent, a spokesman for GMP said: “I can’t see anything and I have checked a couple of days, which suggests it was only a fine.”
