Stalybridge planters ready for winter

VOLUNTEERS showed their green fingers to make sure Stalybridge can still put on a floral show over the winter.

People got to work with their trowels, brushes and spades to give planters and beds in the town centre a good turning over.

And plants and flowers were put in ready for them to cast some colour through the coldest and darkest months.

Stalybridge Town Team was responsible, with members giving up their time to make sure the area around Armentieres Square and the Civic Hall was winter ready.

Chair Ray Harrison took on the job of the double decker bed on the corner of Armentieres Square and Trinity Street.

He and others also got to work on the beds close to the Town Team’s hub on Tesco car park.

The planter and bed work was one of several projects the Town Team is involved with in Stalybridge.

More benches around Armentieres Square are also being renovated.
