Two arrests made in connection with a stabbing in Dukinfield

GREATER MANCHESTER POLICE have arrested two people in connection with a stabbing in Dukinfield

Police were called at approximately 4.05pm on Tuesday, January 11 to Astley Street following a report of a fight involving knives.

Emergency services attended and enquiries established two people – a man and a woman – had been stabbed inside a property on the street.

They were taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening or changing and have since been released.

A full investigation was launched and detectives have since arrested a 36-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman in the Dukinfield area on suspicion of section 18 assault.

They remain in custody for questioning.

Enquiries are ongoing.
