Brassed off! New partner sought to run Mossley pub

THE search is on again to find a new tenant to help re-open a Mossley pub.

The Best o’ Brass on Manchester Road had been due to welcome back customers earlier this month.

But the prospective landlords had an 11th hour change of heart citing the current economic uncertainty in the hospitality sector as one of the key reasons. They are concentrating efforts on their other Tameside businesses.

Best o BrassA spokesperson for Hawthorn said: “We’re sorry that we haven’t been able to get the Best o’ Brass reopened in time for Christmas.

“The pub looks fantastic after an extensive refurbishment and we can’t wait to welcome everybody back in.

“We just need to find the perfect pub partner. So, if you love pubs and you’re passionate about the local community, we’d love to hear from you about running this fantastic community pub.”

Earlier this year the West Midlands based Hawthorn group were sold to Admiral Taverns in a deal worth a report £222 million.
