A MOSSLEY primary school has received a four-figure boost in its bid to add a forest school cabin.
But Milton St John’s admits it needs more money to succeed in its aim – and festive fun will boost the coffers.
Children at the Mill Lane school will be taking part in a week of Christmas fairs and craft days, starting on Monday, November 29.
A £5 donation from a pupil will be exchanged for tokens for the children to use on the day to choose what they would like to take part in at the fair.
Activities will include games and a chocolate tombola and a school spokesman said: “Money raised at the fair will be used towards funding a new forest school cabin that we have been planning for some time.
“We have already received a kind donation from Skools Out of £1,000 for this project but we need to raise more in order for it to be successful.”
Years Four and Six will have their fair on Monday, November 29, Nursery, Year One, Year Three and Year 5B on Tuesday, November 30 and Reception, Year Two and Year 5A on Wednesday, December 1.
Part of the funds will be used to subsidise a pantomime and Christmas parties and expect to see some different hairstyles on Friday, November 26.
For in return for a donation to the chocolate tombola that day, children are able to come to school with crazy hair.
Milton St John’s ahs also helped out the Mossley community, with a non-unfirm day on the final day before the half-term break raising £288 for Mossley Food Bank, as an alternative to their usual Harvest collection.
