Noah stars for The Shaymen

MOSSLEY Hollins High School’s Noah Lucas played a starring role for FC Halifax Town Under-16s in a dramatic victory against Farsley Celtic.

The 15-year-old from Mossley, who recently signed a contract with The Shaymen, helped his team turn a two-goal half-time deficit into a 3-2 victory.

Noah opened FC Halifax Town’s account with a screamer from 25 yards into the top corner and then hit the winner in the 89th minute with another great strike.

And the double made it three goals in three games for the winger – he also scored against Brighouse – since he signed a contract with a view to securing a scholarship after completing his GCSEs.

Noah, who still occasionally plays for Stalybridge Celtic Juniors, had trials at Oldham Athletic towards the end of last season.

He was asked for trials at FC Halifax Town in September and impressed sufficiently to be given a contract.

Noah was also a talented basketball player, starring for Manchester Giants’ at junior level in the National League, but football was always his main love and his dream remains to become a professional.
