Stalybridge street feast expands indoors

WITH the nights drawing in and the temperatures already dropping, Tameside Council has taken steps to expand the seating and entertainment offered to Stalybridge Street Feast visitors by opening up the civic hall.

Cllr Eleanor Wills, project lead for Stalybridge Street Feast, said: “The weather has been very kind to us so far but we know we can’t count on that continuing as we go through autumn and approach the end of the year.

“That’s why we’re opening up the civic hall. If people want to, they can now enjoy their food and drink warm and dry inside a welcoming venue that dates back more than 150 years and embodies Stalybridge’s long and fascinating history.

“Use of the hall also lets us expand the entertainment on offer. In October, as well as live music, we’ll have a roaming magician and Krafty’s Kids’ Club.”

Street Feast enjoyed great popularity over the summer months with thousands coming into the town centre to enjoy the first-class food and drink on offer around Armentieres Square.

It’s an exciting feelgood gathering which has put Stalybridge firmly on Greater Manchester’s food and drink map. A wide range of stalls offer continental-style street food and favourite tipples in picturesque and relaxed surroundings.

The next Stalybridge Street Feast is on Friday, October 8. If you have an appetite for quality food and drink in a relaxed atmosphere with some fantastic entertainment, get yourself to Armentieres Square and Stalybridge Civic Hall between 5 and 9pm.
