IF you are looking for a gift with a difference, why not visit Hidden Gift which will soon celebrate its first anniversary at its home in Woodend Mill, Mossley.
The shop is a treasure trove including jewellery, lanterns, oil warmers, scarves and an assortment of ornaments.
“People often say they do not see the things I stock elsewhere so it is a niche market,” explained owner Vicky Bonsar. While Vicky has built up an impressive portfolio of Facebook followers initially as ‘Lots of Love Gifts’, she is keen to attract more visitors to the retail premises. She estimates 70 per cent of her business in online.
“I changed to Hidden Gifts because my sister-in-law Linzi Watts kept saying nobody can find you,” she joked.
Hidden Gifts can easily be located as it is on the opposite side of the car park from the popular Allotment Café.
Vicky initially ran the business from her home on the Ashton/Mossley border while working for wholesaler Joe Davies from who she buys her gifts.
But as the business expanded and outgrew her home, Vicky took the plunge during the pandemic to work full time and find premises to house her ever expanding range of stock.
Hidden Gifts is open on Saturday from 10am-4pm and at other times by appointment. Vicky is also planning to host party plans for groups with a range of Christmas stock soon to arrive.
As Vicky is still building her customer base, she has also run Animal Assistance alongside Hidden Gifts.
It is a bespoke dog walking, pet walking and pet taxi to vets and for grooming and already she has transported dogs, cats, rabbits and even snakes.
