STALYBRIDGE’S second street food event proved another smash hit as it became bigger and better.
After the inaugural event exceeded everyone’s expectations, Friday, August 13 saw another Street Feast. And it proved just as popular with hundreds of people attending.
Armentieres Square was once again turned into a festival of produce, only this time there was extra space with stalls placed around the outside to allow the crowds more room.
Traders again proved a hit with a variety of different cuisines on offer, along with the ubiquitous beer tent.
Nearby businesses also joined in as the monthly event has proved an addition to the calendar people can look forward to – and take advantage of.
One of the people behind the event, Cllr Eleanor Wills, revealed the inspiration was her husband David.
She told The Correspondent: “Stalybridge is a beautiful town with lots to offer and somebody said to me once, ‘It’s punching beneath its weight.’ This was an example of us punching at our weight.
“I’m hopeful we’ll be able to show how important and integral it is for Stalybridge to have this offer on our doorstep.”
Stalybridge’s next Street Feast will take place on Friday, September 10.
