No-cha Joe’s in Hyde after closure

A HYDE coffee shop has closed its doors suddenly, leaving a sad sight in the middle of the town’s shopping centre.

Mocha Joe’s has been forced to close its shutters at its site in Clarendon Square after apparent action from suppliers.

And its seating area is taped off in the middle of the arcade.

Notices strapped to the kiosk spell out in no uncertain terms the Holland-based landowner’s intentions to repossess whatever is left on the property.

Now customers in Clarendon Square must look elsewhere, while centre bosses look for a new occupier for what is now the former Mocha Joe’s site.

  1. It’s had that sign on for weeks. Maybe rent too high and too many cafes in the same area. Needs a little bit of new life injecting in to it.

  2. At a time when hospitality has had such difficult times through no fault of its own, it’s sad to see landlords not willing to work with their tenants. How was the trader supposed to pay rent when he was told to close. Some landlords have been great but some, usually the big ones have been ruthless.
