‘Massive fall’ in Covid rates across Tameside

COVID-19 infection rates in Tameside has shown a massive fall in the latest statistics released for the week ending July 29.

The latest figures are 308 infections per 100,000 people compared to 570 the previous week.

In the space of a fortnight, the number of infections has almost halved from 612 to 308.

All 10 of the Greater Manchester boroughs have again shown sharp reductions.

However, the number of patients in critical care and high dependency beds in Greater Manchester for the week ending August 1 has risen from 63 to 66.

Covid patients in Greater Manchester hospitals, excluding critical care and high dependency, has shown a small decrease from 349 to 339 for the week ending August 1.
