THE new ‘reading shed’ at Millbrook Primary has been given the mayoral seal of approval.
Tameside Civic Mayor Councillor Janet Cooper performed the official opening. She was accompanied by her consort Dennis Fitzpatrick and Cllr Jan Jackson.
The school and parent teacher association (PTA) held various events over the last year to raise funds for its purchase.The mayor met with representatives of the school council and personal, social, health and economic (PHSE) ambassadors who told her about the reading shed and about the books that had been purchased with our ‘Let’s End Hate Crime’ award.
Also present were headteacher Elizabeth Turner, chair of governors Mike Robinson and a representative from the PTA.
