Open recruitment day at Willow Wood Hospice

Willow Wood Hospice is holding an open recruitment day on Saturday, July 31 as it looks to recruit staff in a number of disciplines as part of its plans to expand and develop.

Nicky Byrne, head of clinical services said: “We’re really excited about the way our services are growing.

“In partnership with the NHS Integrated Care organisation, we’re developing a specialist palliative care centre at Willow Wood and are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and committed staff.

“We’re already at the forefront of hospice care; our START clinic is nationally recognised and has been the model for other hospices around the country.

“In addition, our 12 bed in-patient unit, our day services and community outreach team ensure our care for the people of Tameside and Glossop is second to none.

“If you’re a nurse, a health care assistant, counsellor or allied health professional who would like to make a real difference to the lives of our patients and their loved ones, please drop in between 10am-2pm on Saturday.

“You’ll be able to meet existing members of the team, take a tour of the hospice and our beautiful gardens and find out just what we can offer and how we can help you reach your career goals.

“Whether you are already well experienced in palliative care or would like to develop your knowledge of the field we can offer continued learning along with a great work/life balance.

“We hold regular wellbeing days for our staff and have an excellent working environment including a subsidised staff restaurant.  And, of course, current NHS staff will still be able to contribute to their existing NHS pension.

“All in all, it really is a fabulous place to work, and you’ll be part of some exciting new developments in palliative care.”
