MPs were asked to share an image relating to this year’s theme, #ShareAStory, to help promote World Book Day and the joys of reading together to constituents.

Mr Reynolds’ image showed him reading children’s classic Dogs by Emily Gravett to his youngest labradoodle, Wilson.

Some of the Hattersley books will be used as prizes in a competition where children from local schools name the two sheep that have come to stay at the gardens.

Members of The Prince’s Trust are at the gardens for the next two weeks. They will be using their woodworking and painting skills to build a new animal pen.
