Kingly display as Belle Vue return to top of Premiership

BELLE Vue move back to the top of the Premiership table after dealing King’s Lynn a substantial 38-51 defeat at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Expectations of the BikeRight Aces were high ahead of their visit to Norfolk, and they didn’t disappoint as they took control of proceedings right from the word go.

Brady Kurtz and Richie Worrall were commanding in Heat 1 and set the tone for the evening with a 5-1 against Ricky Wells and Erik Riss.

From there, there was no recovering for the home side as the BikeRight Aces continued to dominate and never offered their opponents the chance to counter.

Team boss Mark Lemon was delighted with his side’s solid performance, Dan Bewley being the top scorer on the night with 11 points and closely followed by several of his Belle Vue teammates.

Lemon said: “It’s a great feeling, at this stage of the season, to still be unbeaten and to see the boys performing so strongly away from home.

“King’s Lynn were struggling a little bit. They’ve had quite a few changes recently and maybe not as much time as they’d like for their riders to gel.

“But our boys took no prisoners. We were strong from start to finish and everyone did their bit to make sure we took maximum points from the meeting.

“The competition this year will be a close affair, with only six teams in the league and four places in the Play Offs, so we need to be putting the pressure on everywhere we go.

“Performances like this one are a classic example of that. Our away form will be vital when it comes down to the crunch but if we continue like this it gives me great confidence for future efforts.”
