WORLD Elder Abuse Awareness Day, which takes place on Tuesday, 15 June, is all about making it clear that safeguarding adults – especially the elderly – is everyone’s responsibility.
The message is forcefully put in this video which has been produced to raise awareness of adult abuse: https://youtu.be/EoObdIL_AI0

Cllr Eleanor Wills, Tameside Council’s executive member for adult social care, said: “We all have a duty to speak up if we suspect an elderly person is being mistreated.
“Adult abuse is more than violence – it comes in many forms and is always wrong – and just one voice can make all the difference in helping a victim.
“Tameside Council is committed to protecting the elderly, so if you have any fears for an older person give us a call. Don’t leave it to someone else.”
Purple is the colour associated with the campaign and purple-themed events will be taking place throughout the week. People are also asked to show their support by wearing purple and there’s also a purple quiz you can try at www.tameside.gov.uk/adultabuse/news#tasp
