St George’s Day at St Joesph’s

BASKING in the afternoon sunshine, pupils at St joseph’s RC Primary School, Mossley, held a joint celebration for Queen Elizabeth’s birthday on April 21 and St George’s Day on April 23.

The children enjoyed an afternoon tea on the lawn decorated with bunting and waved their flags in celebration.

All week the youngsters have been learning about the monarchy and listening to the National Anthem – they even sent a message to the Queen to wish her happy birthday.

To celebrate St George’s Day, the children made dragon masks, biscuits with the St George’s flag in icing and acted out the story of St George and the dragon.
