COVID-19 infection rates continue to fall in Tameside

THE latest figures released, for the week ending April 24, show a reduction from 33.6 to 27.4 cases per 100,000 people.

Tameside is one of seven boroughs in Greater Manchester to record reductions, though Salford, Stockport and Trafford report small rises.

Bolton, with 47.3 cases per 100,000, has the highest rate of infection in Greater Manchester.

Weekly Covid-19 admissions to hospital in Greater Manchester halves from 16 to eight in the week ending April 27.

And the number of Covid patients in critical care for the week ending April 28 reduced from 29 to 24.

There was a sharp fall in the number of Covid patients in Greater Manchester hospitals for the week ending April 28 from 132 to 95.
