MICKLEHURST Cricket Club is looking to increase its revenue streams to fund further improvements at its Richmond Hill ground.
Club officials are to make a major push on securing advertising with the money already earmarked for various projects.
Secretary Julie Kippax explained: “Replacing ground maintenance machinery is a priority as much of it is at the end of it working life through wear and tear having been patched up in recent years.
Top of the wish list is a new roller which would cost about £10,000.
Julie added the Greater Manchester Cricket League’s facilities document outlines what needs to be done for grounds to be compliant.
Failure to adhere to the regulations could result in clubs being denied promotion.
Micklehurst is looking for a sponsor for an electronic scoreboard which will soon become a requirement.
That is likely to cost up to £4,000 and a sponsor would have its name place on the scorebox in recognition for the support given.
Any business or individual able to help can contact email@example.com or Julie on 07810 677641.
• Micklehurst will be fielding an Under-9s and two U11 teams, one soft ball and one hard ball).
Practice sessions will be each Thursday (6.30pm-8.30pm) once lockdown restrictions are eased.
