Covid rates in Tameside almost half in last seven days

COVID-19 rates in Tameside almost halved for the seven-day period ending April 10.

 

The number of cases per 100,000 was 37.5 compared with 73.7 the previous week.

The rates have tumbled from 113 for the week ending March 20 when Tameside had the highest rate of any borough in Greater Manchester. In the latest figures, Tameside now has the third lowest rates.

 

However, Covid admissions to hospitals in Greater Manchester increased for the week ending April 13 increased to 41 from 34.

 

The number of Covid patients in high dependency units reduced from 48 to 40 and the total number in hospital fell from 219 to 191.
