Funding is secured for town centre work

STALYBRIDGE Civic Hall, which is at the heart of regeneration plans for the town centre, is to be re-roofed later this year at a cost of almost £300,000.

And more than £600,000 of funding is also in place to create the Heritage Walk which is also part of the Stalybridge High Street Historic Action Zone.

An update about the finances was given to Tameside Council’s strategic planning committee when it was revealed £2.55 million of match funding was in place to carry out the work which is part of the Stalybridge Town Centre Challenge.

  1. Great news but to regenerate Stalybridge my proposal would be to encourage small businesses back into the town surely this is not asking to much given that during the lockdown many entrepreneurs have been born. Start a survey!!
